5 Week Workshop Curriculum
Our workshop is designed for a total of 5 weeks. The aim of the workshop is to not teach how to read english from scratch but to improve the quality of reading & inculcate a positive habit of reading at home. Our workshops are not a replacement of english lessons at school.

Week 1: Introduction & Assessment

- Build rapport with students.
- Discuss reading interests.
- Teach vowels & consonants through games.
- Conduct basic reading fluency & comprehension check.
Week 2: Vocabulary Building

- Introduce simple nouns, verbs, adjectives.
- Practice breaking words into syllables.
- Use new words in simple, self-made sentences.

- Read short paragraphs.
- Create and discuss new vocabulary lists.
- Teach dictionary use (physical/online) for word lookup.
Week 4: Short Story Reading
Week 5: Review, Feedback & Testing

- Read and discuss a short story in class.
- Analyze plot, characters, themes.
- Independent reading with vocabulary word list & sentence practice.
Week 5: Review, Feedback & Testing

- Student feedback and reflection.
- Conduct reading test (comprehension, vocabulary, fluency).
- Provide individual feedback and future reading strategies.
- Meet with class teacher to ensure long-term support.
